2024

I can’t believe we are coming towards the end of another year. It’s so true when they say ‘The days are long, but the years are short’ isn’t it?!

2024 has been the year where I feel like I have finally found my groove. There has been some very high highs and some low lows. But now that we are in the season of reflection, I feel content with where I am and feel like my business is on the right track. I cannot wait to see where 2025 takes us all.

The start of the year kicked off with a bang with our first Wellness Event, celebrating women in business and inspiring us all to start the year off right. It was such a wonderful event, and I am so grateful to everybody who attended. Especially to Natalie from A Peaceful Mind who offered free reflexology to the attendees along with one of her beautiful candles in the goody bags. We also heard from the inspiring Julie Wild and Gemma Stanley who spoke to us about how being authentic to ourselves creates a solid foundation to our business. It was such a lovely event, and I really hope that we will be able to another one in 2025! Who’s in?!

It has been a year full of family shoots, and I always try to pick my favourites to share at the end of the year, but this year it’s been hard to choose. I have found a new spot to shoot in Holmfirth and it’s seen many of you come and run around while I capture your family. Marsden Moors continue to have my heart, even in the pouring rain where two families braved the storm with their newborns and toddlers! Home Sessions have also been beautiful this year with 2024 seeing the most I’ve done in a year. I’ve said it time and time again, but I think there is something just so special about having pictures of your family done in your home. It is where your children are going to think of when they think of their childhood and having those images to keep for generations is so special.

I have also been fortunate enough to shoot with some amazing businesses this year. With Not Another Social taking off (more on that later), it’s given me the opportunity to extend my skills to some beautiful small businesses and help them create content for their websites and social media pages. Small businesses really are a special breed, there is so much that goes into creating a business that stemmed from an idea. Being able to showcase the wonderful humans behind the businesses and capture their products is a honour I’ll never get over. Here are just some of the brilliant businesses I have been able to work with over the last year.

Not Another Social has really taken off this year too, with me bringing on my new right arm, Rachel Thompson, as our resident copywriter. Rachel has been with me since September, and the last 3 months have seen us sign our biggest client to date. Poor Rachel joined at the busiest time of the year, and we have definitely hit the ground running (I even threw her straight into a NAS Brand Shoot 2 weeks after starting - which she loved!). We have been planning our 2025, and have some really helpful workshops in the pipeline. One being with the amazing Lucy Shutt-Vine that is on sale now! We are also looking forward to opening our studio space up once a month for some magical co-working/content creation/networking once a month starting in January 2025. These days will be bookable from 8am to 6pm and you will be able to join us, pick our brains, create content or simply just work on your laptop and laugh at our ‘dad jokes’. We hope to see you there!
